Adel Karas – Regional Director ( Asia , Africa & Middle East)

Adel Karas : Professional expert in the oil & gas with over 35 years of experience in the oil industry.

Mr. Karas started his career with Seismograph Service Ltd. in UK as a seismic analyst, then back to Tulsa-Oklahoma as Data Processing Center Manager with Seismograph Service Corp. and as a Geophysical Advisor with Gulf Oil in Midland-Texas and with AMOCO in Houston-Texas.

In 1980 he joins Digicon Geophysical as Software Manager and he was in charge of developing the new state of the art Geophysical Data Processing System.

In 1986 he joins in Tensor Geophysical - New Orleans , as the President of the Middle East region , to start their first international operation in Cairo EGYPT.

Mr. Karas was called back to Houston after the merger with Grant Geophysical and forming Grant Tensor Corp . in 1991, to serve as the Chief Operating Officer-Data Processing.

Finally in 1993 he joins Petroleum Geo-Services (PGS) in Houston as a Senior VP for Business Development for 2 years till he was asked to establish the Middle East Regional office in Dubai as the President of PGS for the Middle East region till October 2003.

Following his retirement from PGS, Mr. Karas was the co-founder and Managing Director of Strategic Energy Investment Group in Dubai .

Currently and since December 2005 he is the Regional Director AAME for the World Agency of Planetary Monitoring & Earthquake Risk Reduction (WAPMERR) based in Dubai - UAE

Mr. Karas holds a Master Degree in Electrical Engineering, Diploma in Geophysics, Diploma Operation Research and MBA. He is a member of Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) and the European Association for Exploration Geophysicists (EAEG).
