WAPMERR Models the Harbor Cities of Cadiz and Rhodos for the TRANSFER project

The aim of the TRANSFER Proeject team is to calculate inundation maps for the cities of Cadiz and Rhodos, among others, in case of hypothetical tsunamis.  Wapmerr’s part of the job is to construct an accurate 3D model of all the buildings in these cities, such that the flow of water in a tsunami attack can be calculated.

In a first step, WAPMERR has pre-processed high resolution satellite images in order to see what information will be extractable.  The images above show the bay of Cadiz and a zoomed in view of the old city of Cadiz harbor.  Below two views of RHODOS.
